To whom it may concern,

I recently had a very bad experience with my employer. During a company re-structure I was declared redundant, forced to re-apply for my own job and re-interviewed twice and given further psychometric tests. I was not re-employed and was then eventualy forced to train the successful applicants to do my work.

This process of uncertainty carried on for three months during which time I was discouraged from applying for other positions within the company and generally treated very badly by the HR dept in many respects. Following an unfortunate incident towards the end of this process, I was suspended from my job, the company alleging I had commited an act of gross misconduct and threatened to summarily dismiss me.

I felt very victimised by the company and that I stood no chance of the outcome to the events being favourable to me with the weight experience of their HR dept against me. I felt completely overwhelmed by the amount of legislative information which was available but of little practicable use without incisive objective interpretation.

Following advice by a colleague, I approached Gill Cattell for help.

Gill's approach was no-nonsense, considered, helpful, and assuring at a very traumatic time. At all times I was made aware of the positive and negative aspects of the situation, and how it was possible to sometimes turn events which at first appeared one sided to our advantage, or to dismiss them completely. Gill made herself very open to repeated communication so that I did not feel that this was a battle that I was alone in conducting with my employer. Gill's advice was always based on the actual events and communications from the comany as they happened and her complete understanding of the entire scenario between employer and employee in my particular circumstance.

Were it not for her constantly available help and advice, I would not have felt able to determine my actions and communications towards my employer with any confidence. I felt that after many months, I finally had someone on my side. After many days of tactical communications with the company, a successful outcome was concluded in my favour. I do not believe that this would have happened or that I could have conducted my side of the arguments which led to this decision without the advice, encouragement, and intelligence of the support from Gill Cattell.
